# Matomo Token Retrieval

Log in with an administrator account and click on the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner.

Go to **Personal > Security**.

At the bottom of the Security page, click on **Create new token**.

Name the token and ensure that **Only allow secure requests** is not checked.

Retrieve the token (the token is only visible at the time of creation. If lost, you will need to generate a new one).
